Well my mom is finally settled in Florida!  I guess that means it is time for me to go to work!

I have spent the last two days trying to get my work space back in order so I can focus on some new designs and work towards "Jul Fest"

My sister retired from her Quilt shop almost two years ago and decided to have some fun running "Junk Style" shows.  She kept one of her buildings and we started cleaning out our junk!  It worked great with Mom's stuff, she has been collecting for a long time.  We do a show during "Jul Fest" which is a Danish celebration over Thanksgiving weekend, we have always used it to make our vintage style Christmas items and now we are adding furniture and what ever else we want to add.  It's been a great success so far so if you are out and about around Elk Horn Iowa over Thanksgiving make sure you look for our signs or you can e mail my sister Julie a psquilts@metc.net and she can give you all the information.  I will be posting pictures and info in the near future.

Just when I thought things couldn't get any more crazy-------on top of all other things My daughter has had a new baby,  all of our children and grandchildren were together for our annual family crazy fest!  And it was crazy!  I helped my sister set up for our next "Junk Style" show and we finally finished packing my mom up for Florida, she leaves this Sunday.  I hope she finds some wonderful new adventures, I know she will be happy to be in Florida when she watches the Iowa weather this winter!

I will have a new piece in the winter issue of Primitive Quilt and Project magazine.  I think it comes out in October.  Of course once again I talk about doing a book for Christmas.  I keep thinking I can do this but finding the time to devote to it is hard.  I have several things done for the book and lots of ideas now I just have to find the time!

I think I finally and hopefully have my blog working again!  I don't know what happened other than the fact that I am not the most knowledgeable computer person around.

I have posted a photo of a new embroidered piece I have designed called "Winter Sampler".  There is 31 blocks of various sizes and shades of natural fabrics.  The finished size of this piece is 33"x33".  Just think - you can have 31 different Winter stitches to use for so many different projects!  I have people email me with what they are going to do with this other than to make it as is.  They suggested pillow cases and pillows, tea towels, stockings, table runners and even taking some of the designs and using for wool applique!  This photo did not show up very well.  You can see it better on my website apieceofworkdesigns.com under "New Patterns".

I was away from home when someone emailed with an order for this pattern and told me I should look at this blog sweetp-paulette.blogspot.ca  What a great blog this is!  She had posted a wonderful post on this pattern and with this came so many orders and new customers!  Thank you Paulette!
